Furneaux Lodge is yours exclusively for your wedding – we make a point of not booking any body else into our facilities over the period of your celebration. This leaves you free to enjoy time out at your leisure with your friends and family.

Furneaux Lodge lies at the head of Endeavour Inlet in New Zealand's stunning Queen Charlotte Sound, accessible only by water or helicopter. And it's the idyllic isolation and the natural beauty of its surroundings that make the lodge such a great celebration destination. Wedding Facilities
Our fully licensed restaurant offers function menus that highlight our outstanding local food and wines. We are also happy to work with you to create a theme and menu – from a la carte to barbecue – that specifically suits your requirements. We are happy to recommend and book all services, including florist, hairdresser, makeup artist, photographer, entertainment and marquee, as required.
Getting to your wedding…
No roads lead to Furneaux, so you and your guests will arrive by water or by air.
By helicopter
Fly into Endeavour Inlet and land on the front lawn of Furneaux Lodge. We are happy to recommend a carrier and to make the helicopter booking for you, if required.
By water
Take the scenic trip to Furneaux Lodge by water taxi from Picton. We use a number of different taxi companies, who all operate a one-way or return service. Departure times are staggered throughout the day and we can arrange your bookings for you. Transfer rates can be negotiated on your behalf depending on the numbers booked. If you're arriving on your own boat, our 16 moorings are available free of charge. We also offer a courtesy ride ashore.
On the day...
What a great day for a wedding, and what a great wedding day: warm blue skies, sparkling water, vows exchanged in the cool shade, seafood driven degustation and superb local wines at formal tables under the southern stars. This was just one highly successful recipe for a Furneaux Lodge wedding. You, of course, will have your own ideas, your own vision of what you want on this most special of days. We at Furneaux Lodge will work with you every step of the way to make it happen. We can take care of every detail, from the function menus to the flowers, the celebrant to the make-up artist. We can advise on all facets of the occasion and can recommend various specialist services to make your day truly special.

We just wanted to write and say thank you very much for the wonderful experience that was our wedding weekend. We expected that organising our big event in NZ from our base in the UK might have been challenging but it was an easy pleasure. You and your whole team were a great help with every aspect - not only the food, drink and accommodation but also in recommending service providers such as options for the celebrant, boat transport companies, bands, hair and makeup artists, etc.
When it came time for our 3 day party we enjoyed every moment of it. You and your team were wonderfully responsive to all of our needs and those of our guests, who have all told us how much they enjoyed our wedding weekend. The BBQ the evening before the wedding and the brunch the day after were great ways to get more time with our friends and family and the menus you guided us in choosing were lovely. The actual wedding day was exactly as we wanted it to be. Even the brief rain shower didn't dampen the event and you were great in helping us to cope with that. The canapés and champagne after the ceremony were fabulous and we particularly appreciated you sending a staff member with canapés and champagne just for us while we were having our photos taken. The wedding marquee was beautifully set up and a lovely place to have our reception - the clear side with views of the water was a particularly lovely feature. The food was wonderful, a view shared by our guests. To quote one of them, "that was the best wedding meal I've ever had". The wine was also wonderful. We really enjoyed being able to showcase a unique selection of NZ wines for our guests, particularly for those from overseas.
When it came time to leave it was even easy to settle the bill, with it being so helpfully itemised.
In summary, we can't speak highly enough of you, your team and our whole experience of getting married at Furneaux Lodge. We enjoyed every moment of it and would do it all again in a second. We look forward to perhaps visiting the lodge again in the future and reliving our very happy memories.
